SPEAKER 03 :
On this Encore show, Darren and I focus on the area of first fruits and the danger of stealing from God. In Matthew 10, Jesus said that he didn’t come to this earth to bring peace, but a sword. And you will find out that there is a battle going on to win you over to the side of wanting things your way, of having the flesh rule. You may experience that your family and friends will be against you on many fronts, including your giving to God. But obeying God’s word is paramount to the victory that you seek. You must begin to battle in the spirit because you can’t negotiate with the spirit. God keep you strong from temptation as you study his word. Now let’s join the program.
SPEAKER 02 :
As you begin to tithe, you’ll see God bless your finances. And some of you are praying for a better job. Some of you are praying for the bills to get paid off. And do it God’s way. And I’ll tell you, he says, if you bring me the first fruit, stop stealing from me. He says, you’ve been stealing from the whole nation of you. Well, we’ve had people write and say, Darren, I didn’t know until you and Barbara started teaching about tithing that I was stealing from God. Well, you don’t want to rip God off. You just don’t want to do that. If you’ve been there, stop right now and say, God, I’m getting the revelation that I should be bringing you the first fruits, the first 10%, the tithe. That’s what 10% means, the tithe.
SPEAKER 03 :
It means 10%.
SPEAKER 02 :
It means 10%. And bring him the first one. Don’t wait until the last one. There’s a difference between the first 10% and the last 10%. Give him the respect that he asked for in his word. And you tie that first 10%. And then you watch him open up the windows of heaven and rebuke the devourer. Some of you, the devil’s eating your lunch. That’s right. And you know it. Well, here’s a way to stop that. That’s become a tither.
SPEAKER 03 :
That’s right. Abel did it in the Old Testament. Abraham did it in the Old Testament. Jacob did it in the Old Testament. All three mighty men of God. And we know that in the Word, and I’d like to say a little word here from Matthew 10. Do not think that I came to bring peace on the earth. I did not come to bring peace but a sword. And we find in our relationships on this earth, Darren, that there isn’t a lot of peace. We have some real problems going on in a lot of our families. And Jesus himself says, you know, that’s nothing new. And in Micah 7.6, he said here, “…don’t trust in a neighbor, do not have confidence in a friend.” I know some of you, you have blabbed too much to neighbors. You have told, you have really basically spoken what God maybe spoke to you in private. You blabbed it all over the neighborhood. And it says, don’t trust in a neighbor. Don’t have confidence in a friend from her who lies in your bosom. Guard your lips, for a son treats father contemptuously. Daughter rises up against her mother. Daughter-in-law against her mother-in-law. A man’s enemies are the men of his own household. That’s from Micah. And Jesus was saying here, I came to set a man against his father, a daughter against her mother, a daughter-in-law against her mother-in-law. He’s come to bring that black and white into our scene. We’re no longer going to see a gray area.
SPEAKER 02 :
We can’t compromise.
SPEAKER 03 :
We cannot compromise. That’s right.
SPEAKER 02 :
Well, let’s just relate this back here to tithing. It’s not a matter of taking a vote within your family. Say, what do you think if I start tithing?
SPEAKER 03 :
That’s right.
SPEAKER 02 :
Well, let me go over and find out what Grandpa thinks. Hey, folks, let me tell you. You need to do it God’s way. It’s what God says. That’s the word that comes down. And when you give him the respect he is due, you will find that he will go to bat for you in so many ways. And he will vindicate you in front of your family sooner or later. Mm-hmm. I mean, he will bring it out to show that you’re blessed. And some of you are going to be so blessed that then you’ll have another problem. You’re going to have people jealous of you. And I know people that are abundantly blessed. And people look around and they say, why them and not me? Well… you need to be in that position. You need to be so blessed that every time a need comes along, that you can respond to that need. Because a lot of you can’t right now. You know that you can’t.
SPEAKER 03 :
That’s right. We have one father who actually sat his family down and said, now the Lord told me to pay him $100 a week for a while here.
SPEAKER 02 :
For 10 weeks?
SPEAKER 03 :
Yeah, because we’re really down right now. And God said that if I honor him, that it’s going to work out. And he sat his family down. He says, now this is the way it’s going to be for a while, for a season. And it says here in Matthew… Yeah, but what happened to that family? Well, it turned out successful. They’re really doing well, and the children love Jesus. And there’s no rebelliousness in that home. And I believe it’s because father and mother keep communication lines open.
SPEAKER 02 :
And they respect their dad.
SPEAKER 03 :
That’s right. And the father loved God more than them. Jesus said here, he who loves father and mother more than me is not worthy of me. And he who loves son or daughter more than me is not worthy of me. Some of you have put your children before God. You have, you have, and I’ve actually heard you, well, I’ve got to send my son through college. I can’t give tithe right now or I can’t give God what I really need to give him because there’s so many expenses. My kids are going through school. That’s putting them before God. Sorry, but it is. And we’ve got to get our priorities turned around.
SPEAKER 02 :
I heard a preacher from Detroit the other day saying, the name’s Pastor Jack. I heard him saying. My giving takes care of my living. Oh, that’s great. He was after his congregation. He says, you know, I know some of you are going to get mad at me and leave the church, but I want to tell you. He says, my giving takes care of my living. Barbara, I’ll tell you, God has really taught us that it doesn’t really matter what goes on in the natural world. If we do our giving and we praise the Lord and we keep him first place in our life, he just has a marvelous way of taking care of us.
SPEAKER 03 :
That’s right.
SPEAKER 02 :
And he does that.
SPEAKER 03 :
He who has lost his life to Jesus will find it.
SPEAKER 02 :
Now, we’re not anti-family. We better not be. No, we’re not. But sometimes you have to get it straight. There are going to be times when you have to go with your word, the word of God, and the kids aren’t going to understand.
SPEAKER 03 :
That’s right.
SPEAKER 02 :
Parents, in-laws, outlaws, whatever you call them, are not going to understand. But you go with the word of God. He will always be there. He’s the one that sticketh closer than a brother, the word says. And we just encourage you to do it God’s way, and you’ll win. And Barbara, I know, because we’re seeing it in letters, we’re seeing people in classes, that people are saying, we’re beginning to catch on to what you guys are saying. We’re doing the Word, and we’re winning.
SPEAKER 06 :
That’s right.
SPEAKER 02 :
It’s not always easy, but we’re winning. And God is doing those things and turning things around for them. And this young couple you talked about where Dad sat the family down and says, now God’s calling me to give $100 a week for the next 10 weeks. He got a new job. Mom’s now able to stay home. Hey, they got three kids or 10 teenagers. I think that’s wonderful.
SPEAKER 03 :
I really do too.
SPEAKER 02 :
God came through for them because they did it his way.
SPEAKER 03 :
Well, and I don’t think we can, when we do it God’s way, we will always have addition to our life, never subtraction. It’s always true. That’s always true.
SPEAKER 02 :
In his testimony, he’s given that on the air here. So we’re not, we’re not giving something that was given to us in confidence. But he said, you know, when I first started coming to your classes, I was barely making a little over minimum wage. Well, we know that you can’t support three kids and a wife on minimum wage. I mean, you can’t do that. But he trusted the Lord. He trusted the Lord. Now he’s got an excellent job. He’s getting bonuses and whatever. But he had to step out and allow God to change his lifestyle to give him a new job. And I’m sure there were moments where it was a little scary.
SPEAKER 04 :
That’s right.
SPEAKER 02 :
Well, I tell you, Barb, I know today we’re talking to some people who are misemployed, underemployed, unemployed. You need a job today. Why don’t you just let the believers here on this network pray for you? They’d like to do that.
SPEAKER 03 :
It says, we’re in Matthew 10 right now. We’ve kind of been skipping over Matthew for a little bit. He says, He who does not take his cross and follow after me is not worthy of me. He who has found his life shall lose it. That means if you have gone after a life here on earth, of money, of recognition, of prestige. You’re going to find it here on this earth. But he says, He who has lost his life, and that’s given it for my sake, shall find it. He who receives you receives me, and he who receives me receives him who sent me. These are instructions to his disciples because he told them they were going to go out and get persecuted because he was persecuted. They were calling him son of Beelzebub. And he said, Hey, listen, if they call me that… and on your master, then the pupil, the student, is also going to be called that. So he’s just kind of giving them an inkling of what’s going to happen when they go out on their own. Then in Chapter 11… He says that it came about when Jesus had finished giving instructions to his 12 disciples. He departed from there to teach and preach in their cities. And when John in prison, now Herod had thrown John in prison because he had accused him of having affairs with his sister-in-law, which he did, but anyway. and they didn’t like what he was saying of the works of Christ he sent word by his disciples and he said to Jesus are you the expected one or shall we look for someone else and Jesus answered and said to them go and report to John what you hear and see now John was his cousin and he was in prison and we know that when John died Jesus went away to be alone and He must have really been sorrowful of heart during this time. But Jesus said, Go and report to John what you hear and see. The blind receive sight, the lame walk, the lepers are cleansed, the deaf hear, the dead are raised up, the poor have the good news preached to them, and blessed is he who keeps from stumbling over me. Blessed is him who receives this like a little child. Darren, there’s a lot of cynicism in this world, a lot of skeptics in this world, saying you’ve got to prove it to me. And Jesus is saying, if you’ll just receive what I’ve got for you, just take it like a child.
SPEAKER 02 :
You know, so many people, Barbara, just going to church, doing the loop because they don’t feel good if they don’t go to church. They go to church and many of them get depressed. And I used to say, and I think I could say this again today, but I went to a church where I got depressed. And I used to say, you know, the reason they put six days between Sundays is to get over Sundays. Well, I was obviously in the wrong church because I’d go there and I’d end up getting angry and whatever. But, you know, in defense of myself, I would say this, that there were some spirits operating in that church were anti-Holy Spirit. Mm-hmm. And anti the word. And there was more tradition than there was word. And I know that I’m speaking right down into the heart of a lot of our listeners here saying, Darren, where do I go? God can direct you to a church where the word of God is held higher than tradition, than denominational tradition or just the traditions of men. And some churches that are, quote, gotten away and they’re independent, and that’s fine if that’s the way they want to worship and organize their church. But they’ve drifted back into some traditions, and those traditions now are taking place through the Word of God. That’s wrong, because it says that traditions nullify the word of God.
SPEAKER 06 :
That’s right.
SPEAKER 02 :
And you want to be where you can get healed, people can get saved, people can get liberated. And let me say this to you, and if you’re taking notes, and a lot of you do during these broadcasts, but get this, you cannot reason with a spirit. God gave me that a couple of years ago. You can’t reason with a spirit of anger in a person. You might talk to that person who’s just angry. They’re flying off the handle. I mean, you can’t hardly finish a sentence. And you don’t know if they’re going to hit you, throw things, throw a tantrum. I’m talking about adults here. You can’t reason with the spirit. That person that’s bound by a spirit of anger. or a spirit of drug addiction, or a spirit of lying, or a spirit of perversion, a spirit of pornography, you can’t reason with that spirit, with the problem in their life. You can’t reason with that. But you have the name of Jesus. You have the blood of Jesus. You’ve got a couple here that are not afraid to take it on. We’ll take it on because we’re not afraid of the devil, and we know the name of Jesus. And that’s what will take care of those spirits that are tormenting that person’s life.
SPEAKER 06 :
That’s right.
SPEAKER 02 :
We’ve got a call coming in here on line one. Go for it. Who am I talking to here? Hello. Is this Darnell?
SPEAKER 04 :
Yes, it is.
SPEAKER 02 :
How are you doing?
SPEAKER 04 :
Good. Hi.
SPEAKER 02 :
I know you.
SPEAKER 03 :
How are you? Pretty good. Well, good. Are you out of school today? Yep. Well, good. And you decided to call. That’s great. Well, it’s good to hear from you. Do you have a prayer request? How’s your friend doing? She’s doing pretty good.
SPEAKER 04 :
Good. That’s… And we were able to sing that song in front of 90 kids yesterday. Were you? Change my heart, oh God? Yep.
SPEAKER 03 :
In school? Uh-huh. That’s great.
SPEAKER 02 :
You go to public school, don’t you?
SPEAKER 03 :
Yeah. That’s right. Oh, did they say it was good? Yep. Well, good. Oh, we’re glad. And you know what? That word is going to go into some student’s heart, and they’re going to want Jesus. Yep. I really believe that. Well, that’s wonderful. What else did you have to tell us?
SPEAKER 04 :
There’s tears in everyone’s eyes.
SPEAKER 02 :
Really?
SPEAKER 04 :
Yep. When they heard that song, they started crying. Really? Yep. Praise the Lord.
SPEAKER 02 :
Sounds like God was working, doesn’t it?
SPEAKER 04 :
Yep.
SPEAKER 02 :
What grade are you in, Darnell?
SPEAKER 04 :
I’m in sixth.
SPEAKER 02 :
Sixth grade. Wow.
SPEAKER 03 :
With your sister. Yep. Wow. Next year, is it middle school or is it junior high?
SPEAKER 04 :
We’re in junior high right now.
SPEAKER 03 :
Oh, you’re in junior high. Okay, so you still have grade school and junior high. Yeah. All right. Okay. Well, it’s nice to hear from you. I’m so happy that that song went well. And we’ll never know how that touched some people’s hearts. And even teachers who were there, you know? Yep. Who don’t know the Lord. Did your mom get to go?
SPEAKER 04 :
Uh-uh. She went to the women’s meeting and she didn’t know what time we were singing the song. Oh, okay. Well, you tell Delaina hi.
SPEAKER 02 :
Did you have something you wanted us to pray for today?
SPEAKER 04 :
Um, no. Just to get my dad home safely.
SPEAKER 02 :
Where is he today?
SPEAKER 04 :
I don’t know. Oh, okay. We’ll be praying for that.
SPEAKER 02 :
Jesus is going to bring him home safely. He always does, doesn’t he?
SPEAKER 04 :
Yeah. That’s right.
SPEAKER 02 :
How do you pray for your dad when he’s out on the road?
SPEAKER 04 :
At dinner time, I usually ask the Lord to bring him home safely and get him home on time. Well, that’s good, isn’t it? Yeah.
SPEAKER 02 :
You know, he might even be listening to this broadcast. Sometimes he does and he calls us when he’s out on the road. But, well, maybe he’s listening. Do you have anything you want to say to your dad just in case he’s listening?
SPEAKER 04 :
Hope you get home soon, Dad. I love you.
SPEAKER 02 :
Boy, that would make me very old.
SPEAKER 04 :
That would be good, yeah.
SPEAKER 02 :
That’s wonderful.
SPEAKER 03 :
Well, it’s good talking to you. Nice talking to you, too.
SPEAKER 02 :
You have a brother named Darren, don’t you?
SPEAKER 03 :
Yeah.
SPEAKER 02 :
How is he? Is he pretty good most of the time?
SPEAKER 04 :
Yeah.
SPEAKER 02 :
You girls keep him straightened out, don’t you?
SPEAKER 04 :
Yeah.
SPEAKER 02 :
That’s good. Well, Darnell, we love you.
SPEAKER 03 :
Love you, too.
SPEAKER 02 :
And it’s really nice of you to call.
SPEAKER 03 :
Yes, thank you for that great report. You’re welcome.
SPEAKER 02 :
Okay, you stay with Jesus.
SPEAKER 03 :
Okay.
SPEAKER 02 :
Okay, see you. Bye. Bye-bye. Love those kids, yes. They’re twin girls. Yes. Darnell.
SPEAKER 03 :
And Delaina.
SPEAKER 02 :
And Delaina.
SPEAKER 03 :
Yes.
SPEAKER 02 :
The mom and dad have done a great job. They’ve put Jesus as head of their home, and God’s blessing them in so many ways. It’s just fun to be around them. They radiate fun. That’s right. They radiate good times.
SPEAKER 03 :
Yep, you look at their Bibles and they’re well-worn. And that’s the kind of people I like to be around. People where their Bibles are well-worn. And I know that if I have a problem or a situation in my life and I want people to pray, I call those people that I know they’re in the Word.
SPEAKER 02 :
You know, these kids are strong Christians are witnessing to their friends, praying for their friends. They bring us prayer requests and we pray for their friends that have had all kinds of problems, you know, sickness, accidents and so on, because the kids believe in the power of prayer. And I just commend mom and dad there. They’ve done such a great job with those kids.
SPEAKER 03 :
That’s right.
SPEAKER 02 :
Sherry and Dana, wonderful friends.
SPEAKER 03 :
That’s right. Jesus said in the 11th chapter here of Matthew, he says, and he’s talking about John the Baptist, and he’s just kind of reminiscing about John and what a great prophet of God he is. And some of the people say he was a great prophet. And he says, among those born of women, there has not arisen anyone greater than John the Baptist, yet he who is least in the kingdom of heaven is greater than he. And then he says, from the days of John the Baptist until now, the kingdom of heaven suffers violence. It’s forcibly entered into, and the violent men take it by force. And these men that stand up for what is right, for what is right in Jesus, they’re taking that kingdom, and they’re taking it by force, and they’re taking it away from the enemy. And I commend these men, these the heads of the households that are saying, we’re going to do it this way. We’re going to tithe. We’re going to go to church. We’re going to be in a congregation of believers that believe that Jesus can raise the dead, that he can heal the sick, that he can cast out demons. That’s the kind of fathers we need today.
SPEAKER 02 :
Just before we took Darnell’s phone call, we were talking about that. And I’m going to say this again so I’ll make sure you get it. You can’t reason with a spirit. Let me say it another way. You can’t get therapy for a spirit. You can’t take mood elevators to overcome a spirit. Folks, you have to look and let’s do it Jesus way. In Romans 8, I’m sorry, Matthew 8, 16 and 17, it says, Jesus cast out the spirits with the word and healed all who were ill. Let me tell you, if you’ve got those spirits tormenting your life, you’re sick.
SPEAKER 03 :
And isn’t it true that more suicides are among psychiatrists and that field, then the suicide rate is higher in that field than any field of medicine.
SPEAKER 02 :
I wouldn’t be surprised. I haven’t heard that, but I wouldn’t be surprised.
SPEAKER 03 :
Yes, I heard that several years ago. And so even the therapists and the psychiatrists and psychologists have problems in their own lives they can’t get rid of because they’re trying to reason with spirits.
SPEAKER 02 :
Let me say this. If I sat there and listened to people’s problems and I didn’t have a way to remove the problems and the way to get the junk off of me, and folks, I’ll tell you, you sit down and listen to a bunch of negative trash, you need a spiritual bath. Now, let me tell you how to take a spiritual bath right here in public, okay? When you know that you’ve been clobbered with defilement, you’ve heard some things, you’ve seen some things, you’ve been around some things, and you feel slimy. And sometimes we hear things, you know, people say, here’s where I’ve been, here’s what’s happened to me, here’s what’s been done to my life or in my life, or here’s what I’ve been into. And we think, wow, that’s a cesspool of life. And some of these people are, I mean, they’re dressed up fine suits, they’ve got their hair fixed, they’ve got everything together on the outside. But on the inside, they’re a mess. Well, we say, look, first of all, you need to go for forgiveness. That’s the place you start. And Jesus brings that forgiveness into your life. And then we go after those spirits that are tormenting that person, the spirit of anger, perversion. bitterness, unforgiveness, whatever it is, and all of them have a name, and we command them to leave, and a person says, you know, I still feel icky, I still feel dirty, I still feel defiled. Say, well, here’s what you do. The blood of Jesus is given to you, and you can use it in this manner. You can say, I cover my spirit, I cover my mind, I cover my body with the power of the blood of Jesus. Now, we’ve taught this to a man. In fact, he comes to our classes, and he works in a medical facility where he’s around death and dying all the time. I mean, there are people that, and sometimes more than one person dies during his shift. and we have taught him and shared with him, here’s what you do. When you leave that hospital, you say, I cover my spirit, mind, and body with the blood of Jesus, and I command all defilement of death and trauma and all that stuff to leave me. And he says that keeps him mentally straight. It keeps him from losing it, let’s say it that way, because he’s around so much death and so much trauma. Maybe you’re not in a job like that, but there’s been defilement around your life or in your life, You need to cleanse yourself. Maybe you saw something on television. Somebody said something to you. I mean, all these things come against us. Barb and I do this on a fairly regular basis, and we do it for ourselves and for each other. Let’s talk to, it looks like Janelle. Janelle, are you there?
SPEAKER 05 :
I’m Jamil.
SPEAKER 03 :
Oh, Jamil.
SPEAKER 02 :
Jamil, I couldn’t read my computer screen here. Jamil, how are you doing?
SPEAKER 05 :
All right, how are you? Good. I’m just calling because I’m kind of in a spiritual crisis, I think it is. Um, I’ve been saved for about, well, I’ve been saved about, um, I would say five months now. And I got the blood of Jesus about five months ago, but I started backsliding again.
SPEAKER 02 :
Okay.
SPEAKER 05 :
Um.
SPEAKER 02 :
What areas have you been backsliding in, Jamal?
SPEAKER 05 :
I started drinking again.
SPEAKER 02 :
Okay.
SPEAKER 05 :
And, um, my girlfriend, she’s the one that kind of led me to Jesus.
SPEAKER 06 :
Wonderful.
SPEAKER 05 :
And, um, she had a problem with it. We got in a big argument and a fight. And, um. I ended up stopping going to church, and we broke up for about a month. And I haven’t been to church in about two months now.
SPEAKER 02 :
Were you going to a good church?
SPEAKER 05 :
Yes, yes, most definitely. I have no problem with the church, and I want to get back in, but I’m kind of afraid of, you know. how people look at me and, you know, how they view me.
SPEAKER 02 :
Yeah, but you want to know something? Almost everybody in church, no matter what church, they’ve sinned after they got born again. That’s what 1 John 1.9 is for, Jamel. That’s right. And you got a pencil?
SPEAKER 05 :
No, not right now. I’m calling from work, actually.
SPEAKER 02 :
Oh, okay. Well, write this on the back of your hand or something.
SPEAKER 05 :
Oh, 1 John 1.9? There you go. I can remember that. I listen to you guys every day. Oh, good.
SPEAKER 02 :
Well, see, there’s great victory for you. And do you know why you drink?
SPEAKER 05 :
Well, I think it’s a generational curse.
SPEAKER 02 :
Okay, it could be that.
SPEAKER 05 :
I mean, well, I drink because it’s the devil tormenting me.
SPEAKER 03 :
I agree.
SPEAKER 02 :
But you know something else, Jamel, it’s an escape. Yeah, it is. You know, I said, man, I don’t know, I just had to fight with my girlfriend, and I just want to think, it hurts so bad, I don’t want to think about it, and it’s a painkiller.
SPEAKER 03 :
Yeah, I’m just going to go and get bombed, you know.
SPEAKER 05 :
I also smoke marijuana, too, like all my friends do. That’s all they do. Sure. I’ve been doing this for years now. Okay. Since I got out of high school a couple of years back, I’ve been doing the same thing even more frequently. Right. And once I got the blood of Jesus, it just stopped for about…
SPEAKER 02 :
two or three months okay now let me tell you you know we talk about the power packs all the time okay we’re going to send you a power pack we’re going to have to have your address so don’t don’t get out of here without giving us your address but we’re going to pray today and come against the spirits that are keeping you in bondage and then if you put the word of god in your heart jamal you’ll come out of there a stronger christian than you were before yeah see you’re depending upon church for your salvation jamal and do you have a bible yes
SPEAKER 03 :
Okay, that’s your responsibility now as a son of God. You need to get into that Bible.
SPEAKER 05 :
Yeah, I read the scripture like every day. Do you? Two or three scriptures a day, I know. And I underline, I listen to KLT all day long at work. I have that privilege.
SPEAKER 03 :
So where do you get bombed out on marijuana and liquor? After work?
SPEAKER 05 :
Yeah, well, when I go out with my friends or something.
SPEAKER 03 :
I think you need new friends, Jamal.
SPEAKER 05 :
Well, I knew that when I… Okay. Yeah, I had to cut a lot of people out of my life already. I only have one person that I, you know, really associate with.
SPEAKER 03 :
That really supplies you with the marijuana and the drinking?
SPEAKER 05 :
No, I… Oh. The people that I, you know, get drunk with, they already, you know, have it.
SPEAKER 02 :
Right.
SPEAKER 05 :
Or I already have it. I know people… I’ve been doing this for years, but…
SPEAKER 02 :
Well, let’s go for the answer, okay?
SPEAKER 05 :
I don’t want it no more. I haven’t been doing it this week.
SPEAKER 03 :
Okay. Okay. You really don’t want it anymore? No, I don’t want it.
SPEAKER 02 :
Okay. All right. Hang on. We’ll pray for you.
SPEAKER 03 :
Praise God.
SPEAKER 02 :
See, there’s some spirits that are keeping you in the hole. Yeah. All right. I think that’s what it is. There you go.
SPEAKER 05 :
I know I don’t want it.
SPEAKER 02 :
There you go. Well, now we’re going to go after the answer. Would that be okay? Yes, indeed. Now, in Matthew 8, 16 and 17, I just quoted that before you came on. It says… Jesus cast out the spirits with the word and healed all who were ill. That’s right. So I’m ready to pray. Are you? Yes. Okay. Are there any other problems that keep pulling you down in the hole?
SPEAKER 05 :
Sexual immortality.
SPEAKER 02 :
Okay. Sexual immorality. Well, let’s go back to that. I’m sorry. That’s all right.
SPEAKER 05 :
I have a two-year-old son, and I’m my son’s father.
SPEAKER 06 :
Okay.
SPEAKER 05 :
I’m there for him, and me and his mother are back together. Okay. I’m planning on getting married. Okay. And she’s been forcing that, not forcing it on me, but she’s been bringing it up quite frequently.
SPEAKER 02 :
Is she the one that brought you to Jesus?
SPEAKER 05 :
Yes.
SPEAKER 02 :
Well, good.
SPEAKER 05 :
And I’m ready to get married.
SPEAKER 02 :
Good, good.
SPEAKER 05 :
I have to.
SPEAKER 02 :
Let me tell you something. You and Jesus are going to be able to handle it. You’re going to be able to be the dad and husband you want to be and keep a good job. And he’s going to straighten your life out, man. Do you think you could ever come meet us on Tuesday nights?
SPEAKER 05 :
Yeah.
SPEAKER 02 :
Okay. We’re out to Holiday Inn in North Glen, you know. You hear us talk about that? Yes, yes. I would love to meet you. And you called her your girlfriend, but the mother of your son, I’d like to meet her. And we’d like to give you some prayer support. Well, let’s go for it. Are you ready to get free?
SPEAKER 06 :
Yes, I am.
SPEAKER 02 :
All right. Father God, I thank you for your mail phone call. And Lord God, right now, in the name of Jesus, I say that you’re taking out the spirit of perversion. You’re taking out that perverted spirit of drug abuse and that alcohol spirit, Father God, that keeps him down, that strangles his life. And, Lord, I pray and ask right now that you would cleanse his habit patterns, that you would take out all desire in his spirit, in his mind, in his flesh for the marijuana and for the booze. And I thank you. And, Lord, I ask you to cleanse this man and also his girlfriend. And I ask you to bring about a godly marriage here. Yes. And, Lord, you can do that. Yes. And I say, Lord, that he’s cried out for forgiveness and that you have forgiven him. He needs to know that. He really needs to know he is forgiven. That’s right. And, Lord, I see you taking away the desire for alcohol and drugs in Jesus’ name. In Jesus’ name. And, Lord, I ask you to bring this and make this a godly couple and a godly household. And you can do that. You’re the Redeemer, Lord. You’re not out there to beat their brains out. You’re there to help them. So I thank you in Jesus’ powerful name. And I say, Jamal now is going to jump into the Word of God and become a strong Christian. In the name of Jesus, amen.
