SPEAKER 01 :
Welcome to Calda Freedom. May God meet all your needs today. That’s in the Lord’s Prayer. And give us this day our daily bread. And God is going to provide for you, my friend. You may be anxious, a little fearful. Sometimes you don’t have enough or the bills aren’t going to be paid by the end of the month. But when you look back on that month and see what God has done for you, I hope all you can do is raise your hands and praise him. So may God meet all your needs today. May the fulfillment be a reflection of his love, a revelation of his character, and a reminder that you are his and you are priceless. You are priceless. Look what he did. Look what he did for us. by sending his son, Jesus Christ, and him dying on the cross and then being raised from the dead. And he’s alive in you today as you believe in him as your Savior and Lord. Oh, you are blessed to dispense for in him you live and move and have your being. And our memory verse for this week is found in Romans 15, verse 13. I pray that God, the source of hope, Yes, we need that hope welling up within us. We don’t want to be depressed in any way. And that depression is a self-focus. It’s focusing on all our problems, focusing on me, focusing on I’m not adequate, focusing on I’m not worthy enough. And so I pray that the God, the source of hope. I pray that he is your hope today will fill you completely with joy and peace because you trust in him. Then you will overflow with confident hope through the power of Holy Spirit. And in the New American Standard, Romans 15, verse 13 says, Now may the God of hope fill you with all joy and peace in believing. We need to believe. Yes, we need to turn on that imagination, that godly imagination and just believe that that you may abound in hope by the power of Holy Spirit who is in you. Every day I ask God for his wisdom and understanding of his word, especially when I go to the office and I’m praying for you. I’m praying that I will be able to say things that may encourage you and lift you up for the day. I don’t know what’s going to happen in my day, and you probably don’t know either. Even with a person who’s a channeler or a blogger, I shouldn’t say this, but a witch. They don’t know what’s going to happen in that day. Only God knows. And I remember a time when John and I were providing music at a camp meeting in eastern Texas during a very hot summer week. It was. Texas was hot. It was muggy and humid. It was unbelievable. And we were in that huge outdoor kind of a camp meeting setting where the seats were long planks for seating and no backs on them. So people were sitting on these planks. Long, long planks for seats. And there were about 300, 400 there in that setting. And I was so thankful for the motorhome that week with the opportunity to fix our own breakfast and lunch and to be able to go in there and cool down during the real hot afternoons. The speaker that week, I’ll never forget, the speaker that week was a well-known evangelist. But it was his wife who made an impact on my spiritual walk. One morning in her message, her message was go to the word. And she compared the word of God to an atlas. In those days, okay, listen up. In those days, we carried around maps and atlases if we were going to travel. Yeah, we had it in a glove compartment or in another place in the vehicle, especially the atlases, they got to be pretty large. And today, you’ve got your phone. It was a world of difference. So different. And I believe the younger generation would call it outlandish or old or archaic. But that’s where technology was in those days. And I remember we were in the deep woods of eastern Texas. You know, we were there in Texas. And this speaker went on to teach that if you go on a trip, you look over your map where you’re going, mapping all the places to stop, fill your vehicle with gas, maybe stay overnight, and that would be your road map. When you have a new day facing you as a believer, you go to the word of God to guide you and keep you on the right track, the right road. And that has been a constant in my life and still is all of these years later. And I’m not going to tell you how many years that was, but all these years later. And as I look at this date, it was 35 years ago on this day. that John went to be with the Lord at the age of 46, precious John, the father of Kimberly and Dana. And if I didn’t have the word of God to guide me during those dark days, I would have been comatose. The light of Jesus’ presence kept me going and kept me strong, carrying the load of a business, a huge business, and important life-altering decisions I had to make for my family. in the following months. And God was with me every step of the way. He truly is faithful and true to everything that he says in his word. And I want you to trust him and depend on him for every decision you make. I guess that’s why I really count Romans 15, 13 as a jewel of the new covenant. May the God of hope fill you with all joy and peace in believing that you may abound in hope by the power of Holy Spirit who is in you. The Bible uses the word abound to describe abundance. And I looked it up before I came to the studio, because abound, what does that mean? And it’s used to refer to God’s favor and blessings, which are given to those who diligently seek him. The Bible states that his mercies and blessings will abound toward us, and that’s Psalm 33, verse 18. This means that God will continue to provide more of his favor and blessings to those who trust in him, to those who depend on him, who call him not only Savior, but Lord and Master. His mercies and blessings will abound toward us. Oh, it’s beautiful. The word abound is also used to refer to an overflowing of God’s blessings and grace. For example, Psalm 65 verse 11 says, You crown the year with a bountiful harvest. Even the hard pathways overflow with abundance. Even those moments in your year that are difficult experience. and challenging, that they overflow with God’s grace and mercy and his abundance in those times. The grasslands of the wilderness become a lush pasture, and the hillsides blossom with joy. This is Psalm 65, verse 11. The meadows are clothed with flocks of sheep, and the valleys are carpeted with grain. Don’t you love to go, and especially barefoot, through grass, through really nice, soft green grass? Oh, I can’t wait till summer. And they all shout and sing for joy. All of God’s creation shouts and sings for joy. This is saying that the paths of God’s goodness and grace are so great and bountiful that it will never cease to overflow. It will not become empty. That’s, I think, some of our… Some of the things that make us fearful at times, am I going to run out? Am I missing out? Am I going to run out of money? Am I going to run out of good health? Am I going to run out of the relationship that I’m in? See, it never ceases. That overflow of God’s blessings and goodness and grace never ceases. Do you believe that for your own life? You can’t help but feel good after hearing those verses of God’s blessing. During very dark days for Israel, Jeremiah penned these words of hope in Lamentations 3.22. The steadfast love of the Lord never ceases. His mercies never come to an end. They are new every morning. Great is thy faithfulness. And as you get those sheets off of you and the blankets and you put your feet down on the floor, you can say, this is the day, Father God, that you have made. And I will rejoice and be glad in it. Why will you rejoice? Because you know God is the same. Jesus Christ is the same yesterday, today and forever. Praise the Lord. God’s abundance can be seen in multiple ways. different ways in the Bible and in life. An example of this can be found in 2 Corinthians 9, verse 8, which says, and God will generously, that means he’s got it overflowing, folks. He will generously provide all you need. The only one who can stop that is you. That’s right. The only one that can stop God’s generosity and his overflow of goodness and mercy and grace is you stopping it up. And then you will always have everything you need and plenty left over to share with others. That’s what we want. We want to have plenty to meet our needs and then more than enough to give into the kingdom of God. For God is the one who provides seed for the farmer and then bread to eat. In the same way, he will provide and increase your resources and then produce a great harvest of generosity in you, which results in great praise to God. I hope you’re the kind of person in the kingdom here on earth that your generosity is overflowing to God and to those people that bless your life. I hope that is true in your life. The Bible is saying that God is abundant in grace and is able to provide all the necessary material and spiritual resources to enable a person to do good in the world. That’s right. He is providing. He’s providing the seed for you that you can distribute to others. He’s providing everything that you need to live on. Wow. You know, as I got into the word abound, I had notes for a whole different subject today. And when I got into the word abound, Holy Spirit gave me a fresh perspective of his love and grace. I love the way Holy Spirit operates. He knows the kind of day that I have today and all the memories that I have. And if you’ve lost a spouse or a son or a daughter today, You understand that date is forever in your heart. It’s stamped in your heart when you lose them or when they are departed from you. And so I realized that today he wanted to give me just a fresh perspective of his love and grace and for you too, my friend. I love the way Holy Spirit operates. I just really do. He loves blessing you. He loves filling up those voids in your life with his presence. And I know that so many of you have had losses in your life. many just lately. Last year just was a very difficult year for some of you who lost a loved one or a son or a daughter. When you begin to realize how valuable and important you are to God, you will begin to pray the spirits of wisdom and understanding to be present in your daily walk. Oh, wisdom, you are my sister, and understanding, you’re my intimate friend. That’s a wonderful proverb to remember. 1 Corinthians 3, 8-19, in the message says it’s not the one who plants or the one who waters is at the center of this process but God who makes things grow you can put the seed in the ground my dad did he planted and planted and planted he wanted a great harvest not only for himself but all of the beets and the beans and the corn that went out he knew they would bless others and so God is at the center of this he makes it grow Planting and watering our tasks for minimum wages. What makes them worth doing is God we are serving. You happen to be God’s field in which we are working. You are God’s field. Or to put it another way, you are God’s home. And I’ve been talking to you for the last week about the foundation, our bedrock, Jesus Christ, who is the cornerstone. And I’m reading from 1 Corinthians 3, 18 through 19 in the message. So let every carpenter who comes on the job take on the responsibility to build on the foundation. And that foundation is Jesus Christ, our cornerstone. Verse 12 of 1 Corinthians 3 says, Take particular care in picking out your building materials. Eventually, there is going to be an inspection. If you use cheap or inferior materials, you’ll be found out. The inspection will be thorough and rigorous. You won’t get by with a thing, even if you use inferior materials. It’s going to come out one of these days. And I’m so glad that Judge Bennett, who built the home I’m living in, used absolutely marvelous materials that would last and last because the house that I’m living in is 75 years old. And he built it with a great foundation, and I’m so grateful. If your work passes inspection, fine. If the work is shoddy and doesn’t pass inspection, your part of the building will be torn out and started over. But you won’t be torn out. You’ll survive. But just barely. Oh, I don’t want you to survive barely. You realize, don’t you, that you are the temple of God and God himself is present in you. No one will get by with vandalizing God’s temple. You can be sure of that. God’s temple is sacred. He doesn’t allow any defilement, friend. And you remember you are his temple. I ask you, do you believe that? Do you believe that he is your temple? I mean that you are his temple, and he is your temple as well. The foundation of faith is really important for you as a believer. If I asked you, if you were across the table from me right now, what do you really believe? What are the things that you believe? have you received Jesus as your Savior and Lord? And that’s what I asked my cousin a year and a half ago that I talked to Sunday night. And she prayed the prayer. It was beautiful. Do you believe that Jesus is your Savior and Lord? If you do, are you willing to talk about it? So we need a foundation of faith. And Isaiah 28, 16 is a wonderful thing that’s God laying out a sure foundation, not only in Zion. At that time, Isaiah was talking about Zion. But Zion is in our hearts. That’s right. Zion is not a place, per se. It’s an area in your heart where God resides. And then the psalmist in Psalm 119, verse 30 through 37, has made certain promises to God, who is our refuge. And we need to do that also. And it’s important that you not only believe that God needs to do certain things for you, but you need to do certain things for God. And here’s the psalmist. I have chosen to be faithful. I have determined to live by your regulations. I cling to your commands, Lord. Don’t let me be put to shame. I will pursue your commands, for you expand my understanding. You desire more understanding. See, we… We are a people that need more and more understanding for the world we live in. We really do. Verse 33 of Psalm 119 says, “‘Teach me your decrees, O Lord. I will keep them to the end. Give me understanding, and I will obey your instructions. I will put them into practice with all my heart. Make me walk along the path of your commands, for that is where my happiness is found.'” Give me an eagerness for your decrees rather than a love for money. Turn my eyes from worthless things and give me life through your word. Your regulations are good. Oh, praise the Lord. And then Jesus says in Mark 11, 22 through 24, and we know this very well. Oh, have the faith of God. This is a foundation, a key of your foundation. Have the faith in God. Truly, I say to you, whoever says to this mountain, be taken up and cast into the sea. Whatever keeps you from drawing close to Jesus Christ, cast it out in Jesus name and do not doubt in your heart, but believe what you say is going to happen. It will be granted you. Therefore, Jesus says, all things for which you pray and ask, believe that you have received them and they will be granted you. Oh, what a wonderful foundational verse. So you’re having foundational verses not only in Isaiah 58, excuse me, 28, where you have a foundation in God. Oh, praise the Lord and in his foundation in Jesus Christ. But you have a foundation in the faith walk, believing, praying, asking. That’s what you do as a believer. You bring that into your daily walk with him because he’s a faithful God. Remember that scripture? Oh, the steadfast love of the Lord never ceases. His mercies are new every morning. Great is your faithfulness, O Lord. Here’s Wes Hampton.
SPEAKER 02 :

We’ll be right back.

Oh, praise God. One of my favorite songs. One of my favorite old songs. Oh, beautiful, spirit-filled songs. Here’s Jeremiah, who has lost everything. He has no peace. He has no joy. He’s forgotten happiness. And he says, my strength has perished and so has my hope from the Lord. Boy, we never want to lose hope, friend. We never do. Go to the word. Just as my evangelist’s wife said, go to the word, go to the word. Remember my affliction and my wandering, the wormwood and bitterness. Surely my soul remembers and is bowed down within me. This I recall to my mind. Therefore, I have hope because the Lord’s loving kindness indeed never ceases for his compassions never fail. great are they new every morning they are new every morning great is thy faithfulness oh the lord is my portion says my soul and this is jeremiah talking to himself therefore i have hope in him the lord is good to those who wait for him to the person who seeks him oh praise the lord it is good that he waits silently for the salvation of the lord And when it gets to those times, to wait silently for God’s word is so good. So Hebrews 10 says, Let us hold fast the confession of our hope without wavering. For he who promised is faithful. And let us consider how to stimulate one another to love and good deeds, not forsaking our assembling together. Oh, that’s so good to have a friend, to have a wonderful friend. Call them up and ask them out to lunch. That’s the best thing you can do for healing. Not forsaking our own assembling together as is the habit of some. but encouraging one another, and all the more as you see the day drawing near. And we know that day is drawing near, friend, when Jesus is going to burst through those clouds. Oh, it’s going to be a marvelous reunion. It truly is, of all of those who have gone to be with him. And we hold them dear. We honor them. And Father God, I thank you for being with my friends who have lost. I thank you for filling up that void in their hearts that they will sense more than anything else your presence right now. I thank you, Father God, that your hope and love will fill us up to overflowing, that we may abound. in every good deed. In your precious name, I ask that, Lord Jesus. Amen. It’s good being with you today. God bless you and keep you. And take joy, my friend. Take joy.
