Welcome to Call to Freedom. Oh, friend, light is shed upon the righteous. You have the light of Jesus Christ. He’s the light of the world. And joy, you have light and joy in your life that the world knows nothing about. In fact, John wrote about this in John 1, not not 1 John, excuse me, in John 1, Saint John 1. All things came into being by him. He’s talking about Jesus here. And apart from him, nothing came into being that has come into being. In him was life. And the life was the light of men. And the light shines in the darkness. And the darkness cannot overpower it. Once you are in the light of Jesus Christ, that light shines brightly to all around you. Oh, it’s so wonderful to know that. And to know that people that you talk to, Holy Spirit has already gone ahead of you to introduce them in the Spirit to what you’re going to be talking about. I hope you’re talking about Jesus and not just the weather. Oh, because so many times I can get distracted and into something else when God is telling me I want you to talk to them about knowing me. And so we got to get more bold. We really do. It’s me too. I’m preaching to the choir here. Light is shed upon the righteous and joy on the upright of heart. And that’s Psalm 97, verse 11. Oh, I want to go into Psalm 97. I think that’s one of the derrens. I know, Derin had so many favorite scriptures. And I want to look into Psalm 97, verse 11, because I believe that was one of his favorite. Okay, yes, yes, yes, Psalm 97, verse 11. Light is so like seed for the righteous. See, we’re sowing seed in the light of Jesus Christ. Oh, I love that new American standard translation. And gladness for the upright in heart. Oh, that is so good. Thank you. Thank you, Derin, for remembering that verse of scripture. That was one of his favorites. Again, Psalm 97, verse 11. Light is so like seed. You are a light that, and Jesus Christ in you is sowing seed all over praise the Lord. And gladness for the upright in heart. Oh, I’m so glad you joined me today. It’s so wonderful to get together with like-minded believers. And you are one, and I praise God for you. And I pray that your situation will not be an impossible one, because we know that all things are possible through those that love God, through those who obey Him, who trust Him. And that’s Mark 923. Praise the Lord for his wonderful scripture. You are blessed to dispense for in Him you live and move and have your being. And yesterday I got an email from Kimberly. I don’t get that sometimes. I get more texts. But sometimes you wonder why you’re here. I did. I have that pretty well situated now. Pretty well answered for me now. But when I was younger, yeah, there were days. Lord, why am I here? Why am I existing here on this earth? Well, Kimberly said an email by John Rodel. And his nickname, the name he goes by, is slow learner. That’s really a good one, because I’ve been a slow learner. And here it is. Maybe we are here to teach you of each other how to love. Maybe earth is a classroom, and we take turns being students and professors. Maybe we need to quick grading each other so harshly. Maybe the only homework assignment we have been given is solving the equation of kindness. Maybe empathy is just a study abroad of, excuse me. Maybe empathy is just a study abroad program where we spend time in the hearts of strangers. Maybe forgiveness is the final exam. If you’ve ever been traveling, have you ever gone to another country? And your first priority was to be kind to strangers? That’s probably not. It’s probably down the list, not the first priority of most people. They want to see the sights. They want to enjoy the food, be a tourist, to enjoy everything about that country. I’m going to say this again. Maybe empathy is just a study abroad program where we spend time in the hearts of strangers. Maybe forgiveness is final exam. Maybe we are never meant to graduate, and maybe we remain forever students of how to love and care for each other. That’s John Rudell. Oh, that’s so good. Kimberly, thank you so much. Isaiah 26, verse 3. I’ve been dwelling in there. It’s such an important verse for us. It keeps us out of doubt, fear, and unbelief. It’s so important that you memorize at least one verse on peace, my friend. Yes, one verse. You go through the concordance and you get verses on scripture. You pick out one verse. If it’s Isaiah 26, three, good, because Jesus is the Prince of Peace. He came to give us peace. And in this world, sometimes we wonder, “Is peace ever going to get here?” He says in John 14, “My peace, I leave with you, my peace I give to you.” “Not as the world gives, do I give to you? Let not your heart be troubled. Neither let it be afraid.” Jesus had an assignment that would have made any man or woman hide away in a cave, go run to the mountains, go run to the mountains. He came to die. Yes, and in the process he brought us peace. What a savior we have. So here is that important scripture, Isaiah 26, verse 3, that will give you peace at all times. And I’m reading from the living translation right now. Isaiah 26, 2 through 4. Open the gates to all who are righteous. Allow the faithful ones to enter. You will keep in perfect peace, all who trust in you, all whose thoughts are fixed on you. Trust in the Lord always for the Lord God is the eternal rock. Oh, I hope you go to that scripture in Isaiah, and you just kind of dwell on that this week. You don’t have to memorize it. I hope you do. It’s not that long, but I hope that you just dwell on that perfect peace that God gives to those who trust in Him. And in the message translation, Isaiah 26, 1 through 4, at that time this song will be sung in the country of Judah. We have a strong city, salvation city, Jerusalem built and fortified with salvation. And at that time there was a Jerusalem. Then when the Romans came in, they destroyed Jerusalem. So this was not the eternal city that it is going to be. Throw wide the gates so good and true people can enter. People with their minds set on you. Here it is, verse 3 of 26, Isaiah 26, people with their minds set on you. You keep completely whole, steady on their feet because they keep at it and don’t quit. They keep at it and don’t quit. Depend on God and keep at it because in the Lord God you have a sure thing. Oh, I love that. The message translation of Isaiah 26, verse 3. My confession for today, I confess that I’m following the voice of my commander in chief. We all desire a commander in chief that we can we can follow and we can obey even as a country. We want a commander in chief that we can respect and honor. I will go where Jesus says to go. I will do exactly what he tells me to do. I am committed to get in the battle and stay in it until the victory is won. And most of the time I got to tell you that the battle that’s going on is the one inside of us. That’s right. The one inside of us. And we need to win that battle. Our flesh needs to dominate our, excuse me, our flesh needs to be dominated by our spirit. Our spirit needs to have control over our flesh. Yes, it does. And I told you last week, I think that’s why the self control is one of the last, it is the last of the fruits of Holy Spirit because it takes that long for spirit to dominate the flesh. It’s just a mean, mean flesh is just a battle weary, but battle continually against our spirit. I have an attitude that never gives in, never gives up, never surrenders to defeat. God has equipped me with everything I need to win this battle over the flesh. And I will, we will friend, I declare this by faith in Jesus name. And again, Philippians 413 in the Passion says the strength of Christ’s explosive power infuses me to conquer every difficulty. I love this translation because even in the New American standard, what is the first word in Philippians 313? It’s I. I, I, I, I, I don’t want I to be there. So when I saw the strength of Christ’s explosive power infuses me to conquer every difficulty, I knew that was going to be the verse I was going to memorize of Philippians 413, the strength of Christ’s explosive power infuses me. That means it goes all through me to conquer every difficulty. And I hope that you’re continuing to say from Isaiah 45 verse 23, I judge the words and actions of the wicked in God’s righteousness. Oh, I judge the words and actions of the wicked in God’s righteousness. And we can say that along with Isaiah 54, 17, that no weapon shall prosper. No weapon shall come against me and prosper. You can say that scripture however you want, but God has given you a weapon with your words that will overcome every battle in your life. Praise the Lord. Yesterday, I zeroed in on two servants in King Hezekiah’s court. And I want to continue with that today if I can. Shabna was one of King Hezekiah’s chief assistants. He was a steward in the court. He did not share the godly principles of King Hezekiah. Who was a godly king? He was puffed up and prideful believing that his position gave him class and importance. The Lord spoke to Shabna through Isaiah saying, “Who do you think you are? What authority do you think you have? You really are nothing and you have nothing.” Isaiah had prophesied that the people of Judah and Jerusalem would be carried away into exile. But Shabna didn’t believe it. As I said yesterday, so many people today don’t believe that Jesus is coming back. And they don’t believe the world is coming to an end so soon. Shabna sought honor and glory, but would never find it. Instead, the Lord would make certain that He would die in exile. And it’s sad how some people are so stubborn and stiff-knit that God, He does not desire that any should perish my friend. But when you step outside that protective covering of God, that umbrella of grace around you. When you step out of that by an act of your will, I cannot tell you of the consequences. I hope that God will get you to surrender and obey Him. In Isaiah 22, verse 23-24, “The Lord lifts up Eliakum instead of Shabna. God gave Eliakum the position and honor that Shabna had. God told Isaiah to prophesy over Eliakum. “The key of the house of David, I will lay on your shoulder so you shall open and no one shall shut, you shall shut and no one shall open. Your words are so important, my friend.” It’s like when you say something, is it negative? Is it directed in the negative or is it in the positive? I really pray that you will see in an attitude of, as you look at your words and what you’re speaking, that they will not be tried, they will not be wasteful, but they will be of importance. It goes on to say, “I will fasten Him as a peg in a secure place, and He will become a glorious throne to His Father’s house. They will hang on Him all the glory of His Father’s house, the offspring and the posterity, all vessels a small quantity from the cups to all the pictures.” And this in Isaiah 22 is a, the, Eliakum is really a picture of Jesus. And I just pray that as you see these two, Shabna, who is very full of pride, and Eliakum, who was obedient to God, and I want to ask you this question, what kind of steward are you over the household of God? And we know that in 1 Corinthians 4 verse 1, Paul starts out by saying, “You are stewards of the mysteries.” So we are stewards of God’s mysteries, that He is revealing to us all the time in these last days. Are you a Shabna full of pride, wanting attention, or are you like Eliakum, who was faithful and trustworthy, willing to be in the background in building up the Kingdom of God? What do you have that you did not received? I have to go on to a 7th verse of 1 Corinthians 4, it’s so good. So we look at these two thinking, “Oh, that’s just a history lesson.” No, it is not. It really pertains to what we are today. Are you a Shabna, or are you a Eliakum? And just like Eliakum, Jesus cares for and provides for and loves His church. King has a kaya gave Eliakum almost unlimited control over his house, just as Jesus has unlimited control over His church. God says to Eliakum, “The key of the house of David, I will lay on his shoulder.” That means he’s got the authority that he gave to King David, and that he will give to the son of David, Jesus Christ himself. Because Eliakum is the Lord’s servant, the Lord will give him great authority. Yesterday, I told you that the custom of a manager, or one in charge of the household, a steward, would be that he would have the large master key of the house or the palace, fastened to the shoulder of his tunic. And a master key leads you into any kind of doorway, any apartment. Today, in this day and age, we have managers over apartment buildings, and you can get into any apartment with a manager key. So he had great authority, he was given the master key, and the key is a picture and a demonstration of the authority of the chief steward. And as I just quoted to you from 1 Corinthians 4-1, we are stewards of God’s kingdom, of the mysteries of God. So we have that authority, and I praise God that he is raising up people that will be steadfast and stand strong in all of this. And so it goes on to say, “This Eliakum becomes a prophecy of the Messiah, because Jesus told us this passage spoke of himself in Revelation 3 verse 7. “These things says, ‘He who is holy, he who is true, who is that?’ Jesus is speaking of himself. “He who has the key of David, as spoken of in Isaiah 26, 22, he who opens and no one shuts and shuts and no one opens. Jesus is the one with the keys of Hades and Death, as you will read in Revelation 1 verse 18. “Who has all the authority both in heaven and on earth, given to him by Father God. “Jesus gave us the authority to overcome the enemy by confessing the word of God and speaking the blood of Jesus over our dominion. “And here it is in Revelation 12-11, and most of you know this. God bless you. And they overcame him the enemy by the blood of the Lamb and the word of their testimony, the word of what is your testimony, the word of their testimony, and did not value their lives as anything compared to the name of the Lord Jesus. “Jesus delegates this authority to those who trust in him and exalt him. “He says to you today from Matthew 16 verse 19, ‘I will give you the keys of the kingdom of heaven.’ That’s us. That’s us. “And whatever you shall bind or forbid, when you’re seeing a friend or a loved one who is full of hate, who is just going back and forth from pride to doing things that are totally ungodly, you recognize those spirits. “Spirits of hatred, spirits of pride, spirits of murder could be, spirits of unforgiveness, you bind those spirits. “Whatever you shall bind or forbid on earth, it shall be bound in heaven. And then upon this person, and you don’t do it verbally in front of them, you do that in your prayer closet. “And whatever you shall lose or permit, you lose those spirits of peace, you lose those spirits of salvation, of joy, of patience in their lives, of hope, of Jesus coming.” “This is so good. I love Matthew 16, 19, and then two chapters later, Jesus repeats this. That’s how important the binding and losing and keys of the kingdom are for you today, friend.” “In Matthew 16, 19, and in Matthew 18, 18, and 19, the keys were and are symbols of authority and ruling power. “Ilyacum would have had this kind of authority from the Lord since he is a picture of Jesus. We know that Jesus has the authority to open and shut doors in our lives. “As he pleases, we need to accept both the open and the shut doors. “In 2 Corinthians 4-17, it says, ‘Our present troubles are small and won’t last very long, yet they produce for us a glory that vastly outweighs them and will last forever. “And from the message translations, 2 Corinthians 4-16-18 says, ‘So we’re not giving up. How could we, even though on the outside it often looks like things are falling apart on us, on the inside where God is making new life, not a day goes by without His unfolding grace?’ “These hard times are small potatoes compared to the coming good times. The lavish celebration prepared for us. There’s far more here than meets the eye. The things we see now are here today, gone tomorrow, but the things we can’t see now will last forever. “I am encouraging you to follow Jesus. He has the keys of the kingdom that open great doors of opportunity for you today and always.” Terry Macalman wrote a song, “Father, after your spirit we follow. Father, into your presence we come. Jesus cleanses us and free us from every chain. Father, into your presence we come.” Here’s Terry. “Teach you a little call to worship chorus, something that I hope can remain here and be a blessing to you. Just listen one time. It’s very easy. It goes like this.” “Father, after your spirit we follow. Father, into your presence we come.” “Jesus cleanses us and free us from every chain. Father, into your presence we come.” “Now easy than it is singing with me.” “Father, into your presence we come.” “Jesus cleanses us and free us from every chain. Father, into your presence we come.” “Father, after your spirit we follow. Father, into your presence we come.” “Jesus cleanses us and free us from every chain. Father, into your presence we come.” “Come on with me now holy, holy, holy, holy. It’s our King.” “Horing, glory, glory, that we sing.” “You are not only above all the nations free. We lift you high and magnify the day.” “Father, after your spirit we follow. Father, into your presence we come.” “Jesus cleanses us and free us from every chain. Father, into your presence we come.” “Now holy, holy, holy, it’s our King.” “Horing, glory, glory, that we sing.” “Oh, you are not only above all the nations free. We lift you high and magnify your heart.” “Oh, we lift you high Lord and we lift your name on high.” “Oh, you are going to have open doors and shut doors in your life. You are going to walk down a long corridor of closed doors.” “It may seem heartbreaking to you that doors which open to great jobs and marriage or dain by God may be closed in the future.” “Love and friendships and those relationships that seem so solid may be wisps of smoke disappearing in the horizon.” “But beyond them there is the one unclosed door through which we shall enter into our true everlasting life.” “So we do not lose heart, no, for we know that when one door closes my friend another door opens.” “God bless you and keep you.
